| | 25th Wedding Anniversary | | My husband is a saint. We are celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary on Tuesday (25th May 2010). I am very excited now and thought I would be busy then so not have time to write and tell you all. He says he would not have got as long a sentence for 'life'. He is sooo patient and copes with all of my ups and downs - me being a Gemini too. He has helped me raise two wonderful children. I hope we have another 25 years to spend together. We are not having a party but had a few days away together in a wonderful castle near Ruthin, Wales. | |
| | wedding anniversary coming...husband not here | | hi all!our third wedding anniversary is coming. but my husband won't be here. there is a once in a lifetime chance to attend a church growth conference in singapore next week and he is leaving on monday night. the conference is only 5 days but it will take him 8 days to get back because we ran after the promo fare on those days. and then we realized, the extra days would also cost him money so it is just about the same. tsk tsk. oh well, but at least he gets to spend time with some friends there.on our first wedding anniversary, we left our city for our church's youth summer camp. on our second anniversary, i have just given birth so i forgot if we even had a date then. hehehe our baby was just 2 months old then. and for our third anniversary, he will be away. hmmm...so i guess no celebration again this year. and since we are short on finances, i don't think we will have a grand date even after the event. but that is okay. our love will always be there. our marriage is always going to be intact. because it is God that draws us closer together.our marriage has not been a bed of roses. | | Alice in Wonderland Wedding? | | Now, any wedding can cost a lot, but a themed wedding can cost even more just because you have to get things that match the theme of your wedding. I was totally just going to go with a normal fall theme, but then I realized that that isn't me. Normal is not a word anyone who knows me would even use to describe me lol. My fiance is going to be the one paying for mostly everything and he makes great money, but no one wants to break the bank, right? I think that my creativity and the kookiness of Alice in Wonderland will be fun because I can be very creative and free with my ideas. I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas of their own that I can add into my wedding or reception that is Alice in Wonderland themed? I've already got some great ones but I would love to hear what everyone else has to input! Especially any ideas for the reception. I don't like the idea of everyone just milling around eating and drinking then leaving. My family is not much for dancing and neither am I, though there will be music. | | Alcohol at wedding reception? | | Is alcohol at a wedding considered a must? I mean, I don't have anything against drinking, but it just adds another expense to the wedding. I know you can provide the alcohol yourself and then hire a bar tender. Maybe only buying a few wines and champagnes, and some bottles beers, and wine coolers can be an option and people can just get what they want? I don't really know but I would like champagne to be there so there can be a toast and wine, beer, and wine coolers are simple options and we don't have to get into worrying about mixed drinks. Does that seem reasonable? Or even just champagne to toast with and then have extra out for people to have if they want more?Let me know what you think!d eating and drinking then leaving. | | Wedding Reception ideas | | Any ideas for a wedding reception? I don't know what should go on or happen. I am not into dancing, but music playing would be fun. If it were up to me I'd hook up a couple of big TVs, rent some Wii systems and we'd all have competitions, then watch a freak show performance. But that is just me, not sounding like a bad idea though lol. I know my family would know that it is just like me to want something like that. | | What do you do when your only invited to a wedding for the gift? | | recently got an invitation to a wedding and this person doesnt like us and arent on speaking terms with us yet we get an invitation to this persons wedding that is across the country! (they live locally) anyone that knows me well knows i have gone through hell with bills and medical problems with my husband and myself to where im stuck in debt and not only that my husband has NO vacation time and NO sick time he could use even if we could afford to get there.. i know they know that and are just sending an invite so they can get a gift (because i was told to do the same by them when i got married) why else if some one hates you and you know they dont have the money?? if we dont acknowledge it it will just start crap more since its a relative and my husband cannot handle the stress of that with his health probs or me even with mine but i dont think some one that has treated you like crap FOR YEARS should get a gift just because they know you will feel guilty or start a war with relatives if you dont.. what do you think? | |
| | Wedding dates | | So, I'm most likely getting married fall 2011. Pretty far away still but I'm planning things out now so I won't have to stress later. I want my wedding on Halloween which falls on a Monday in 2011. My wedding won't be Halloween themed, though I may have some Halloween themed foods as I love the holiday, but I am wondering will most people be willing to miss out on taking their kids trick or treating to come to a wedding? I know my family will since the kids are invited anyway, but as for friends of mine who won't necessarily be bringing their children do you think they would come? I know I should just ask but I don't want to schedule my wedding around other people. | |
