myLot Discussions| Making a wedding gift basket | | It is about time for a lot of couples to be planning their marriages. Do you have an idea of what to get them? Do want to take a chance on getting them the same old thing that everyone else is getting or do you want a unique gift? I always opt for the unique gift, which is why I started giving gift baskets as gifts at weddings and baby showers.I usually go to some place and buy a wicker style laundry basket. (Wal-Mart usually has them starting at about $3 and up.)I then decide on what type of theme I want to go with. Will it be for the kitchen, the bathroom, general cleaning? The choices are endless. I have done one for the kitchen and one for the bathroom.For the bathroom, you can buy a pretty rug, some fancy soaps, a soap dish, toothbrush holder, hand towels, etc.For the kitchen, I bought a bottle of Dawn dish detergent, dish rags and towels, pot scrubbers, large kitchen utensils (meat forks, spatuals, spoons, basters, pastry brushes, etc.), measuring cups and spoons, a coupon holder, even a tablecloth in a nice neutral color.I'll bet if you put your mind to it, you could come up with lots of really great gift... | |
| | Buying wedding gift | | I know I waited too long to buy anything online, because tomorrow my friend is getting married and I still have no gift for her. That is because I didn't know what to get her, I know she likes angels, but I didn't know actually what. Then it hit me last night, a set of candlesticks. I hope that our local walmart/k-mart has some nice ones, because when I went online, the only ones that look good enough I can only get online and obviously I don't have the time. (Or really the money either when I include overnight shipping)I really would like to get this gift for her, but just in case what ideas do you have. Nothing too expensive, at least under $50.00. | |
